I've read Running against the Wind and I highly recommend it. This article is a nutshell summary of his book. Contemplative prayer is not as much "crap" as Joel Olsteen's "crap," but it is "crap" none the less.
(Wow, I used the word "crap" three times in one posting - I guess four now.)

Whooooohooo! At least you aren't doing potty-training right here with Joy...we have other stuff that we have cleaned off the floor twice now...still smiling...of course I am in denial :)
